The inFoods® Family of Patents
Biomerica has filed many patent applications with the USPTO and with other such similar agencies in other countries outside of the United States pertaining to this inFoods® technology. These patent applications include claims that address the diagnosis and treatment of several disease states including:
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS),
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)
- Crohn’s disease,
- Ulcerative colitis,
- Functional dyspepsia,
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease,
- Migraine Headaches,
These applications include the use of this technology in both humans and animals. The first patents filed by Biomerica pertained to IBS. Several of the patents pertaining to the inFoods® IBS technology have been issued and many more are in active review and prosecution.

Korea – First InFoods® IBS Patent
The Korean Patent Office issued our first InFoods® IBS patent (#10-1887545). This patent was the first for the InFoods® patent portfolio, providing patent protection for InFoods® IBS in Korea until November 13, 2035.
U.S. – First InFoods® IBS Patent
First issued patent from the USPTO (#10,309,970) pertaining to our InFoods® IBS product.
Japan – First InFoods® IBS Patent
The Japanese Patent Office issued our first InFoods® IBS patent (6681907).
U.S – Second InFoods® IBS Patent
The USPTO issued our second InFoods® IBS patent (10,788,498) which covers IBS sensitivity testing.
Singapore – First InFoods® IBS Patent
The Singapore Patent Office issued our first InFoods® IBS patent (11201705102Q).
Korea – Second InFoods® IBS Patent
The Korean Patent Office issued a second InFoods® IBS patent (10-2224649).
Japan – Notice of allowance for an InFoods® IBS patent
The Japanese Patent Office issued a notice of allowance for an InFoods® IBS patent (6876338).
Mexico – Notice of allowance for an InFoods® IBS patent
The company received a notice of allowance for an InFoods® IBS patent in Mexico which covers the compositions, devices and methods of IBS sensitivity testing.
Japan – Notice of allowance for an InFoods® Depression patent
The Company received a notice of allowance for an InFoods® Depression patent which covers the compositions, devices and methods of depression sensitivity testing.
