Biomerica Reports First Quarter Revenue Growth of 19.5%
Irvine, California – October 18, 2011 -- Biomerica, Inc. (OTC BB: BMRA), a global provider of advanced diagnostic products for the early detection of medical conditions, announced financial results today for the first fiscal quarter ended August 31, 2011.
Fiscal 2012 first quarter diagnostic revenues were $1,407,665, up 19.5% compared to diagnostic revenues of $1,177,712 for same period last year. This improvement is the result of organic growth of Biomerica’s diagnostic business in Asia.
Net income for the first quarter fiscal 2012 was $117,792 compared to a net loss of $12,186 in fiscal 2011. First quarter earnings were $0.02 per share on a fully diluted basis versus $0.00 per share reported for the same period last year.
"The first quarter of the year reflects strength of our product lines in Asia," said Zackary Irani, Biomerica Chief Executive Officer. "While the global economic outlook suggests only modest growth, we continue to invest in new distribution channels and new products. Our outlook is positive for the remainder of the year."
